Mission ideas for adults
Think you don't have time to volunteer? Consider these things:
Do you have an old cell phone lying around? The Women's Center can use them for emergency calls only (911).
The next time you go shopping, put in a few extra cans of food, paper/plastic goods (such as plastic forks, knives, spoons; paper plates; napkins; coffee/drink cups; etc.). You can drop them off at Bethel A.M.E. Church, or bring them to the church and a member of the Mission Possible committee will get the items to the proper place.
Next time you come to church, bring a bag of food items (non-perishable) for the various food pantries in southern Illinois.
The American Red Cross is always in need of new blankets for families who have lost their homes to fire. They can also use teddy bears, other stuffed animals for comfort care packages. Contact the Little Egypt Red Cross Network.
You can sponsor a child for the Boys & Girls Club for only $18 (year membership)
Did you just get new glasses? If so, bring your old ones in to church and put them in the Lion's Club box!
For just $1, you can pay for the shipping of a kit for the Midwest Mission Distribution Center (MMDC)
For just $5, you can pay for the shipping of a flood bucket
You can drive a young person to summer FCA camp...even just one day helps!
You can volunteer for an organization daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly!
Matthew 25:40 "And the king will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'"
